Automatic AA gun

Recent wars have fuelled the debate on AA systems. The constantly improving range and accuracy of aircraft places increasing demands on AA systems. Old-fashioned weapons systems are falling behind.

The technical development of missiles has already significantly reduced the scope for using guns. Heavy AA guns have been practically eliminated. The main question is whether AA operations will be wholly taken over by missiles or other weapons systems in the future.
